ARCOSTORIA: Atlanta 1996 Semifinale ITA vs USA

In 1996 at the Stone Mountain Park in Atlanta, during Olympic Games, Italy and USA faced each other in semififinals. Justin Huish, Rodney White and Butch Johnson faced Michele Frangilli, Matteo Bisiani and Andrea Parenti on 27 arrows match.
USA shot 251 on 27 arrows, that compared to today 24 arrows format means 223, defeating Italy shooting 247, that means 219.
16 years after, during London 2012 Olympic Games, the score in the Gold Final Match has been 219 (again) for Italy, with USA at 218 points.
So many years, and Michele has been the only one shooting in both matches....

Avevo preparato questo post con due video sugli arcieri della nazionale olandese, diversi giorni fa, molto prima che World Archery eleggesse ad atleta della settimana, uno degli atleti più rappresentativi e conosciuti di questa nazione: Rick Van Der Ven. L'ultimo titolo lo ha conquistato pochi giorni fa a Rzeszow contro il francese J.C. Valladont.
